Married Life

Mmmm. Married life is great. I highly recommend it. It's so nice to be able to spend all day and all night with the man I love. Being able to introduce myself as Brittany Mealey, his wife. Being able to introduce him as my husband. Sunday we get to go to church and introduce ourselves as Brother and Sister Mealey (we didn't go last Sunday because Christian was throwing up and I stayed home to take care of him). We're going to the BYU Student Married ward. Cute, huh? I'm betting on at least 20 kids in the nursery.

One thing that sucks, though, is having to change my name everywhere. For Social Security, the bank, the DMV, for school, for insurance, for FAFSA, for Voter Registration, for the IRS.... the list is endless. And it's annoying because I changed my name for a few places, but some places require different things.
We have our marriage license from the temple, and that sufficed for me to change my name with Social Security, but the bank decided they need the state marriage license, which we assume is being mailed to us.
So I can't change my name with the bank until the state marriage license gets here. To change my name with the DMV, I need a Social Security card with my new name on it. My new Social Security card is still in the mail. I haven't even tried to change my name for voter registration or anything yet, either. I bet that'll be a pain. In the electronic system, though, I am officially Brittany Jaelyn Mealey according to the US government. I just don't have the paper documents to prove it yet.

Our apartment is so cute! It's about a mile and a half south of BYU campus. It's small, but it's a great size for us. Sure, we wouldn't mind a couple extra square feet, but we really don't have a lot of stuff to fill up a bigger apartment with. We met our neighbors yesterday when we were outside washing our car. They seem nice. One thing we discovered about living in a basement apartment underneath a bed & breakfast place, though....is that sometimes you hear lots of noises that you don't necessarily want to hear... lots of people who rent rooms upstairs are honeymooners. Soooo.... yeah. However, we still love our apartment. :)

Christian's going to work either for OfficeTeam (computer type job) or for Kneaders (kind of like Panera Bread). And I start work on Monday as an ABA therapist for an autistic boy. I'm so excited!!! We'll work through the summer as much as we can, and when we start school in the fall we'll work still as much as we can and still earn good grades.

And I love my husband and can't imagine ever being married to anyone else. He's amazing. Today he woke me up and smiled and said, "Want some pancakes???!" He had made pancakes for us while I was asleep. Then he did all the dishes afterward. He's fantastic. I'm so lucky.

Anyway. Off to bed. :) See y'all later.
